PRODUCTIVITY: 3 TIPS TO MAKE YOU INSANELY PRODUCTIVE.
Productivity is the ability to finish all of your MIT’s (Most Important Tasks) for the day, within a time frame that allows you to have time for recreation, relaxation, and fitness. In today’s world, being productive is no longer about doing more, it’s about doing better.
Here are 3 tips to make you insanely productive:
1. Improve your Skills.
Learn how to recognize your strengths and personal weaknesses; to build on or amplify the former; and to eliminate or minimize the impact of the latter; with the longer-term view to maximize or leverage on all the available market opportunities out there; while mitigating or containing any potential threats, prevailing or emerging, that come your way.
You can improve your skills by learning how to:
- read widely and deeply, both mainstream and the fringes; to have expanded perspectives about people, places, things, and ideas around you.
- convert what you have read or learned or even observed into a productive outcome; or concrete deliverable that can add value to your life; in your work, in your business, or even for your client(s)
- recognize an opportunity, assess it, develop it and pursue it;
- strategize, and think strategically and systemically for your longer-term productivity and prosperity
- anticipate challenges, problems, issues, and threats, and more importantly, to generate ideas and solutions to reduce, contain or mitigate them
- renew, rejuvenate and revitalize yourself for continued personal – and professional – growth
2. Improve Your Habit
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.
Aristotle
The habits that affect productivity the most are directly related to the things or reasons you ordinarily complain about to justify for being lazy or unproductive therefore you should avoid them.
To enhance your productivity, you should improve on habits that can enhance your welfare, your physical, mental and emotional well-being. If you are physically feeling good and have the requisite energy for productivity, you will be emotionally stable and able to withstand the stress of having a lot to do, and mentally you won’t be bogged down by identifying with every passing thought, in that case, you have set yourself up for maximum productivity.
The habits that ensure your physical, mental and emotional welfare include:
- Getting enough sleep as being tired not only slows down your mental and physical capacity, but it is the easiest excuse you can make to justify your laziness.
- Exercising as exercise gives you more energy and stops that afternoon fatigue slump, exercise keeps momentum and it improves mental capacity.
- Eating healthy because to operate at maximum productive capacity, you need to have maximum energy levels.
- Meditate as it helps in calming your spirit and mind, which is extremely useful for increasing your focus, which further helps enhance your productivity at work.
- Stay organized and track your time: When we know we have a million things to do with no plan of attack, we get overwhelmed and we become negative about the fact that we have so much to do, so little time, not knowing where to start. You need to have a plan of attack that breaks your big goals into smaller steps and be strict on yourself about completing small steps. Progress adds up and you feel accomplished with every step you take.
3. Positively Affirm Yourself.
Affirmations are positive statements that you should say to yourself in the morning regularly, that can help you to feel motivated; and reshape your limiting beliefs.
Regular affirmations activate those areas of the brain that are involved in waiting for and receiving the reward, which increases the likelihood that your brain will prompt you to act in a way that will allow you to achieve your goal.
You can positively affirm yourself by saying to yourself, I:
- know what I want and I’m not afraid to strive for it.
- am confident, I can achieve any goal
- am letting go of all that no longer serves me
- choose to think positively and create a wonderful and successful life for myself
- can never fail, for everything that happens contributes to me being better
- will become more confident, powerful, and successful everyday
