The 21st-century workplace skills comprise skills, abilities, and learning dispositions that have been identified as being required for success in 21st-century workplaces. These skills include; critical thinking and problem solving; communications and collaboration; creativity and innovation; information literacy; media literacy; Information and communication technologies (ICT) literacy; etc.
In today’s time and age, there is a high demand for skilled individuals for various jobs. Thus, it will prove beneficial to you if you have the required skill set. The good thing is if you do not have the required skills you can always learn them.

Volunteer on Projects
Seek out opportunities in your place of work or other environments to volunteer on technical projects; this will of course allow you to gain valuable experience from working with other members of the team. Volunteering gives excellent access to projects that might ordinarily not be available to you in the corporate world. Volunteers can participate in monthly meetings, meet with clients, and become valued members of the project. This will boost your work skills in your workplace

A training program allows you to strengthen the skills you need to improve. If you spend enough time with experts, you will learn from them. Even geeks learn from other geeks, but if you aren’t much of a geek yourself; a great way to accelerate the development of your work skills is to reach out to experts within your environment.
Engage personally with their projects and learn how things are done; discuss with them how implementation works, the logic of the application also becomes easy to grasp.

Research has proven that reading tutorials (online or offline) are one of the best ways to boost one’s knowledge. General software engagement improves with a breadth of experience; so use many different software programs (online or offline) to improve your overall ability to get things done through software. Don’t be too limited in just getting a task done on software and all; rather, try also to see and learn to use other advance option, and using many different interfaces, think of it as technical intuition.
You’ll learn a lot about interface design from image editing programs, programming tools, and of course computer games. The greater the variety of interfaces you experience, the faster you’ll be able to learn and master each new program you use.
Practice
