Enhancing Productivity Through Self-Discovery
This year have been full of challenges. The world is still battling with the novel Coronavirus. Its a pandemic that shook and is still shaking the world to its foundation; some parts of the world still suffer from natural disaster. The 2020 Beirut explosion is among the many heart breaking disaster that occurred this year.
We are in the second to the last month of the year; yet many have started plans for the new year. As we move into 2021 many of us will make grand declarations about how we plan to work hard to achieve our goals and find success.
While technology has increased our productivity and the efficiency of how we get things done, there is no question that if we truly wish to maximize our true potential, we must look inward as discovering how we work best as individuals is key to finding the success we wish to achieve.
Our potential for optimized productivity has to come from within, technology can help us achieve efficiency, and certainly boosts our productivity once we find out what works best for us. But first we must have a time of self-discovery.
When it comes to self-improvement in our workplace and in our career, it’s important that we find what best fits our individual needs for being truly productive. When reflecting on what works best for you and your goals keep these things in mind and work on becoming more efficient and productive.
Lone Wolf or Collaborator
It’s important to discover what type of work environment works best for you and your skill set. If you are more of a lone wolf that needs some seclusion to be productive it might be beneficial to find a career that allows you such freedom.
Morning or Evening Person
You have probably known for sometime whether you are a morning or evening person. Some of us hop out of bed full of vigor and determination, and some of us don’t really find our groove until later in the day. If you are a morning person, it’s important to schedule your more difficult tasks early in the day. Likewise, if you prefer to work later in the day or evening, make sure to schedule your heavy lifting for evenings, plan your day to best meet your productive peaks.
Calm or Cluster
Some people, especially the creative ones, seem to be able to work in a clustered environment full of creative inspiration, while others need a more clean and organized work space. Whether you work from home or in an office setting, try to find the formula that works best for you. If you are used to having a cluttered work environment, try cleaning it up and see if that helps you find clarity and helps boost your efficiency. Or if your workspace looks as sterile as an operating room, then add some plants and some inspiring visual decorations and see if that helps you stay motivated throughout the day.
Singular or Multitask
While more and more studies show that multitasking is harmful to productivity; some people function best when they are juggling a number of tasks. If you do require singular focus, make sure you set yourself up for success by creating a work environment that is conducive to focusing on a single task until it’s complete. This means no TV breaks or obsessively checking your social media profiles until your work is done. Find the formula that works best for you and manage your tasks accordingly, so you can boost productivity.
Old or New School
Some people seem to really embrace technology and for those that do, there are a number of apps and software programs that will help you stay on task and manage your tasks, while others seem to find it beneficial to actually write things down. Whether your computer is filled with post it notes, or you have task-based apps keeping you on track, find the solution that works best for you and dive in, as being productive requires us to stay on track and manage our day efficiently.
If your goal is to maximize your productivity and achieve your career goals, take some time for self-discovery as it will lead to self improvement at work and at home.

It is very important that we carry out self-study to know what actually works best for us.
What works best for one person may not yield result for another.
