How to Use Stage Fright to Your Advantage
The real fear of speaking is feeling in front of people. Stage fright involves everything you feel and fear; and here is one of the most important ways to overcome; and accept it and how to use it to your advantage.
The tension from performance anxiety will be released when you are able to allow the rush of adrenaline to flow through your body; rather than hiding it causing your body to tense up when you’re trying to hold it all in (Zimmer, 2012).
The main way that you can transform stage fright into power and presence is by accepting that it is okay to experience. If the body is filled up with tension of how bad things are, the mind is only focused on fighting what is happening, causing us to not be open to receiving all the good things we want to happen.
I have realized that by letting your feelings continue to their own conclusions, it will help them dissolve faster rather than trying to control them and not letting your body go through its feelings naturally. When you are able to accept your fear and experience of stage fright, it will slowly disappear leaving you with more confidence during a presentation.
