What is depression
Depression is a mental health disorder characterized by persistently depressed mood or loss of interest in activities, causing significant impairment in daily life. You might ask yourself why is it a disorder? Being in a state where your mind isn’t at rest or not being composed says it all in other words, it’s a mood disorder where you continually feel sad and loss interest in all you do. Different things can lead to depression; like social factors, environmental factors, genetic factors etc.

You do not have to wait to be in the mood to go for events as it will sure help you leave that depressed state. Try to schedule healthy activities for each day and give yourself at least 30 minutes for it each day then take time to notice what you did we love for each day and not what went wrong.
Stay in the Present
Try as much as you can to stay in the present. During activities try not to bring in self-judgement to you head. Yes, you might not be able to help it unit you can notice when is happening and bring yourself back to the present. Research has it that when you have high self of compassion, you have higher self-worth/confidence.
You have to keep relationship with friends who bring you up not those who bring you down. In as much as you want sometime alone but do not isolate yourself. You have to find a balance between both or the depression will linger.
Ensure to keep a balance with not too little and not too much sleep. Do not stay awake all night and then sleep excessively next day as this is a sure way to feed depression. Do not solve problems when your brain is half asleep this means do not even solve problems late at night.
Set workable goals that gives you a sense of accomplishment. Your goals shouldn’t depend on others, it should be manageable, realistic and measurable. Should in case something goes wrong with your goal, adopt a “what can I learn from this attitude”.
Depression only lingers when patients make up reasons why they cannot do some of these things especially when you don’t feel like is vital to the treatment of depression.
