Apply for Terraskills GES … Get Skilled, Go for Internship and Secure your Future
The current unemployment rate in Nigeria stands at a staggering 33.5% (NBS 2020) This high rate has been linked to dearth of employability skills among many other factors. According to the Nigerian Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) many Nigerian graduates are unemployable because they lack basic workplace skills.
In its bid to meaningfully contribute to solving this challenge, Terraskills Learning Systems Limited developed a Graduate Employability Skills (GES) Programme “poised to arm and equip graduates with requisite 21st Century skills and emotional intelligence necessary and sufficient for 21st Century living, for self, business, community and the nation.”
Terraskills is poised to train 1000 Nigerian graduates by 2023 under its GES Programme, tagged ‘EMPOWER 1000’.
The target is to equip these graduates so that they can compete favourably, get employed and have a meaningful life. The main slogan for Terraskills ‘EMPOWER 1000’ is: Get Skilled, Go for Internship and Secure your future.
According to the General Manager, Prince Donald Ejieke Ogbuwa, the slogan is a game changer for any graduate who wants to secure his future in this ever-changing world.
Indeed, the GES model training programme was developed to meet these needs; it stems from a holistic research of employers’ needs and the quest to deliver a standard training and learning program that addresses the current gaps amongst many young graduates.
The unique problems of the Nigerian Graduates and the factors surrounding their inadequacies as exposed by many industries and employers were in the front burner of the GES training model.
