Evolving with the Workplace: 7 Steps to Happiness at Work
A workplace or place of employment is a location where people perform tasks, jobs, and projects for their employer.
Evolve describes a development that is taking its time to reach its final destination. When something evolves, it changes or develops over time, like a taste in music, clothes as well as workplace.
Workplace happiness comes when we enjoy doing the tasks assigned to us. We feel right about the people we are working with; as well as being happy with the financial benefit we get from the job. We have the scope of improving our existing skills.
What leads to a happy life? What are the various ways to be happy in your workplace? Happiness means different things to each of us.
Happiness is something we create, it is not something to achieve. It is a path you choose, not a destination to arrive at.
Jurgen Appelo.
So many of us spend our time in pursuit of happiness, yet instead of searching for it, we need to find ways to live it, embrace it and implement it into our daily lives.
Here are 7 steps to having a workplace happiness.
Find a Career You Enjoy
For some people, a career that they enjoy may mean finding a job that uses skills they are proud of. In other cases, a career you enjoy could be work that you are passionate about or find personally fulfilling.
No employee is happy at work every day, and even jobs you are passionate about can sometimes be frustrating and tedious. But if your career is something you generally enjoy and feel proud of, you are more likely to feel happy at work.
Make Friends
Employees spend a lot of time at work; enjoying the co-workers that you spend time with is one of the hallmarks of a positive work experience. Feeling valued by one co-worker, especially if that’s someone you interact with regularly, can significantly increase your daily happiness at work. Employees who have strong friendships at work, whether or not those friendships are carried into their outside lives, are more likely to be happy and motivated at work.
Appreciation
Employees want to be valued as members of a team and organization. Therefore, they also want to be told, frequently and appropriately, that they are valued, as people. They want to be thanked and appreciated for their accomplishments. When employers openly congratulate employees for their wins of efforts, it makes everyone happier. Gratitude enhances our sense of self-worth, while at the same time strengthening social ties. Expressing gratitude increases the happiness of both giver and receiver.
Focus on Strengths
Employees are happier when individuals or organizations focus more on identifying and maximizing strengths, as opposed to just fixing weaknesses. This helps create a more positive organizational culture, in part because employees like to see their skills recognized and used.
Avoid Negativity
No matter how much you enjoy your job, participating in a toxic work environment increases unhappiness. Choosing to be happy at work means avoiding negative conversations, gossip, and unhealthy work relations as much as possible.
No matter how positively you feel, negative people have a profound impact on your psyche. If you find such groups at work, who are more likely to engage in negative behaviors like gossip or complaining, distance yourself from them. If that is not possible, do your best to redirect conversations to more positive topics.
Fun-time
Employees agreed that most workplaces would benefit from encouraging, fostering, and reinforcing a fun atmosphere, one that encourages humor and playfulness. Every employee seemed to grasp the relation between play and productivity; that when having fun, they are also more energized. When people are happy and enjoying themselves, they are nicer to be around and more likely to go the extra mile for each other and the organization.
Go on a vacation.
Finally, long hours at work day in and day out can take a toll on anyone. If all else fails and you feel that your productivity has hit rock-bottom, then it may be time for a vacation. Taking a vacation can result in greater success and more happiness at work.

Happiness is important in our everyday life whether at the workplace or outside the workplace and shouldn’t be compromised no matter what. Thanks for sharing those steps but there are more to happiness than these.

Step 2 is very important because we spend most of our time in our workplace so making friends in our workplace will help in relief of stress and give happiness in return but my best step is the last one. Ohhhhh!!!!! I love vacationnnnn!!!
