What you will learn

This session introduces the fundamentals of data analytics and its role in informed decision-making, covering the four types: descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. It also walks through the Excel interface, key navigation tips, shortcuts, and essential formulas such as SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, IF, VLOOKUP, and HLOOKUP. Participants learn data formatting, validation, sorting, and filtering techniques, and apply these skills through hands-on projects that involve cleaning a sales dataset and creating a basic sales report using Excel.

This module introduces relational databases and SQL, covering core concepts, basic queries, filtering, sorting, and handling duplicates. It advances into aggregations, joins, subqueries, CTEs, and conditional logic, then focuses on SQL for analytics with window functions, performance optimization, views, and indexing basics. Learners apply these skills through hands-on projects involving employee and customer data, multi-table analysis, growth and cohort analysis, and a final e-commerce capstone focused on customer lifetime value.

These modules focus on transforming data into insights using Power BI, Tableau, and an integrated analytics workflow. Learners build interactive dashboards with Power BI, create advanced visualizations and data stories with Tableau, and apply best practices across tools. The program concludes with a full capstone project that combines SQL, Excel, Power BI, and Tableau to analyze real-world business scenarios and present actionable insights to stakeholders.
