TERRASKILLS GES FOUNDATION

We bridge the gap between academic certification and real workplace readiness, equipping Nigerian graduates with 21st century skills, structured internships, and clear pathways to employment.

LAUNCHED IN 2024 . COMMEMORATING 20 YEARS OF TERRASKILLS

Bridging the gap between certification and career

Terraskills GES Empowerment Foundation is a not-for-profit organization equipping Nigerian graduates with the skills, exposure, and confidence to thrive in today’s workforce. Launched in 2024 to commemorate Terraskills’ 20th Anniversary, the Foundation builds on two decades of training excellence and youth development across Africa. Through fully sponsored training, structured internships, and continuous career support, we are shaping a generation of employable, empowered, and future-ready Nigerians.

OUR PURPOSE

What drives us

Our Vision

To transform Nigeria’s youth into employable, future-ready professionals by closing the gap between academic certification and what employers actually need.

Our Mission

Equip Nigerian graduates with 21st century skills and employability competencies through accessible training, structured internships, and holistic workplace readiness, so every beneficiary transitions confidently from training to employment.

THE PROBLEM

A nation of graduates. A shortage of skills

Nigeria has one of the largest youth populations in the world, with over 80 million young people aged 15 to 35. Each year, hundreds of thousands of graduates enter the workforce with certificates in hand but without the practical skills employers actually need.

Where the gap really shows

Employers across every sector report the same frustration. Graduates arrive eager and qualified on paper, but unprepared for the day-to-day demands of modern work. This is not a failure of the graduates. It is a failure of the bridge between school and workplace.

This is the gap the Foundation was built to close.

OUR SOLUTION

A three step path from classroom to career

Our model is simple, structured, and proven. Every beneficiary moves through three stages, each designed to build on the last, so they leave with skills, real experience, and a clear runway into employment.

01

Skills Training

High impact, employer driven training that builds the digital, communication, and professional skills graduates actually need to compete and thrive.

02

Internship Pipeline

Structured internship placements with corporations, SMEs, NGOs, and government agencies, giving every beneficiary real world experience and direct workplace exposure.

03

Placement & Tracking

Continuous support beyond the internship, with career coaching, job matching, and performance tracking to ensure every beneficiary secures gainful, lasting employment.

WHY IT WORKS

Built on 20 years of doing this work

The Foundation is not a new venture. It is the next chapter of a skills development ecosystem that has trained, placed, and shaped thousands of young Nigerians over two decades. Sponsors invest into a model that already works.

01

Proven Track Record

The Foundation is powered by Terraskills, a skills development ecosystem with 20 years of training excellence. This is not a pilot program. It is a refined model with deep employer networks, established infrastructure, and an experienced trainer base across Nigeria and beyond.

THE TERRASKILLS ECOSYSTEM
02

Market Driven Curriculum

Every training module is co-designed with the employers who hire our graduates. This means what beneficiaries learn maps directly to what hiring managers actually need. No theory that goes unused. No skills that go unrecognized. Just relevance, practical application, and real workplace impact.

03

Affordability Through Philanthropy

Traditional finishing schools and employability programs lock out the very graduates who need them most. Our model flips that. By mobilizing grants, CSR funds, and philanthropic capital, we make professional training and structured internships fully accessible to underserved graduates, at no cost to them.

PROJECTED IMPACT

What your investment makes possible

Every cohort we run produces measurable outcomes. These are the targets we have set for the next two years, the minimum we expect to deliver with consistent partner support. Sponsors receive transparent monthly, quarterly, and annual reports so they can track impact in real time.
